Science Festival 2024: Three-Day event held in Yangon with various activities

ROSATOM of Russia Federation and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly organized the Science Festival 2024.

The opening ceremony of the festival was held at Yangon Technological University and Nuclear Technology Information Center in Yangon on August 15th. After delivering opening speech by the Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Iskander Azizov gave honourable remarks. Then, the attendees observed displayed galleries.

During 3-day festival period from August 15th to 17th held at the Yangon Technological University and Nuclear Technology Information Center, the basic education students can participate Interactive Quiz programms on knowledge of Nuclear and Science such as Chronograph, Nuclear Sprint and Bet Game.

The winner students will be presented with prizes. Likewise, Hackatom competition on Nuclear and related problems is schedule to be held at Yangon Technological University. During the competition, discussions on situation of the development of nuclear sector will be made by teachers from the universities in Yangon as well as screening a video presentation of interview program to three Myanmar experts will be included.

The Science Festival 2024 will give benefits such as knowledge on science, developing a desire to explore new things in science, elevating the strength of youths in education sector, assisting of knowledge distribution on nuclear energy through media for the development of country’s science and nuclear energy sector.

Before the Science Festival 2024,  HRD Joint Working Group held its meeting on August 14th and made discussions on HRD Country Plan and Rosatom scholarship program for 2025-2026 Academic Year according to the decision made at the 1st meeting of Joint Coordination Committee on utilization of Nuclear Energy.
