Train Derailment: Mine explosion caused delays on Yangon-Mandalay routes

Security Patrol Rail Coach (RGC-89), departed from Nyaung Pin Tha Station of Pyu Township, on 14th of August derailed between Nyaung Pin Tha and Phyu Stations on Yangon-Mandalay railway section due to remote mine attack by terrorists.

Officials and local security force inspected at the scene of incident and accompanied by the staff from Myanma Railway, the officials conducted repairing works for operating of railway lines as quick as possible.

The explosion caused delays to No. 1 Yangon-Mandalay up train, No.11 Yangon-Mandalay down train and No. 903 cargo train. The railway repairing processes completed at around 1:30 pm on Thursday, and Phyu-Nyaung Lay Pin railway section resumed its operation.
