Private investments for new capital city

Recently, Indonesia President Joko Widodo has signed a presidential regulation to accelerate development in the Indonesia’s New Capital City in East Kalimantan. Private investors have poured in total of around 3.7 billion U.S Dollar in the development of the city.

The Deputy Authority for Social, Cultural, and Community Empowerment at the Nusantara Capital City said that the development in the capital city will be focused on completing basic infrastructure through the end of 2024. The basic infrastructure includes drinking water facilities, toll roads, shopping centers, and other public facilities such as hospitals and educational institutions.
