




Organized by the Rakhine State Government, roundtable discussion on the development of school libraries and reading enhancement campaign was held at No 4 Basic Education High School in Sittwe Township in the morning on 5th August and attended by Chief Minister U Htein Lin, patron of State Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, Chief Justice of Rakhine State High Court, State Government members, departmental officials, Township elders, writers, representatives of CSOs, teachers and students.
In his opening remark, Chief minister U Htein Lin pointed out that by organizing roundtable discussion for the youth, the good benefits such as acquiring knowledge, sharing knowledge gained, collaborative practices, courage to speak in front of audience and talking skill and development of five strengths etc.
The High school teacher from No 2 Basic Education High school led the roundtable discussion and the students from No 4, No 1, No 9, No 2 Basic Education High School took part in the discussion with the different topics.
At the question-and-answer session, the attendee students asked what they wanted to know and the students participated in the discussion replied.
Next, the Chief minister and officials cordially greeted the students who attended the roundtable discussion and presented gifts to them.
Then, the Chief Minister and party oversaw around the Maha Pyinnyar Kyaw library in No 4 Basic Education High School, encouraged the students who are reading the books and donated books for the school library. The Chief Minister and party also viewed the quiz and puzzle contests and presented gifts, it’s learnt.
