Inundation in Pinlaung: Torrential rain leads to floods in Pinlaung Township

On August 1st, several wards in Pinlaung Township within the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in Shan State (South) experienced significant inundation due to torrential rain.

As a result, schools were temporarily closed, and transportation access was affected. But, no damage has been reported. Pinlaung, which typically receives substantial rainfall, has been hit harder this year, with 10 consecutive days of heavy rain causing flooding in residential areas and streets. The local administrative body is taking necessary measures to manage and mitigate the flood impact.
