SAC Special Envoy in Cambodia: Meeting with Cambodian Senate President and Prime Minister

Union Minister of State Administrative council Chairman’s Office No (2) U Ko Ko Hlaing paid a working visit to Cambodia from 31st July to 2nd August as a Special Envoy of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

While in Phnom Penh on Thursday, the Special Envoy held a courtesy meeting on Samdech Hun Sen, the President of Senate of Cambodia at the Senate Palace, and paid a courtesy call on Samdech Hun Manet, Cambodian Prime Minister at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh.

During the meetings, the Special Envoy shared the recent developments in Myanmar, implementation of the ASEAN Five–Point Consensus in line with the Five-Point Road Map of the State Administrative Council as well as the preparation to hold a free and fair election in Myanmar. Besides, they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further enhancement of the existing ties of friendship between the two countries, the prospects for the expansion of mutual beneficial cooperation in various areas including tourism, connectivity and culture, closer collaboration at both regional and multilateral arenas as well as the possible activities to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of Myanmar-Cambodia diplomatic relations in 2025.
