Census Enumeration: Central Level Instructor Training Course conducted

In order to successfully enumerate the 2024 population and housing census, the Ministry of Immigration and Population organized the Central level instructor training course.

The opening ceremony of the course was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 1st of August. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing stressed that the 2024 Population and Census enumeration is drawing near as it will be carried out from 1st to 15th of coming October.

As the necessary arrangements for census enumeration have been started systematically 3 years ago, the requisite activities for ground census enumeration are completed 100%.He added that only if the personnel able to ask specific questions to receive the accurate data from the citizens during census enumeration, will the census be successfully conducted.

Therefore, the trainees are urged to concentrate in courses and to study thoroughly to be able to perform as the qualified instructors. He added that census enumeration is the only project which helps the government receive the accurate socio-economic information to make nation’s development policies.

Also, the information collected during census will be a pillar in ensuring the correct voter lists for the upcoming election, the Union Minister called for the exerted efforts of the trainees in census enumeration as a national duty.

The Central level instructor training course will be conducted for 10 days with the attendance of 55 personnel from the Ministry of Immigration and Population, Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education. Plans are underway to open Region/State/District level census enumeration techniques courses in regions and states respectively.
