Australia urges 'thousands' of citizens to leave Lebanon

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese urged citizens to leave Lebanon amid fears the war in Gaza could escalate into a region-wide conflict.

The warning came after Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah group said Wednesday that senior military commander was inside a south Beirut building hit by Israel alongside the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
