2nd meeting of work Committee: Matters on holding Nat’l Sports Festival discussed

The 2024 5th National Sports Festival Organizing Work Committee held its 2nd meeting at the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 29th July and was attended by the Chairman of Opening and Closing Ceremonies Organizing Work Committee Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Chairman of 5th National Sports Festival Organizing Work Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Chairmen and secretaries of subcommittees and officials.

In his remark, Union Minister U Min Thein Zan said that Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister gave guidance to prepare and carry out the National Sports Festival in accordance with the national level.

According to the final approved list, 6 kinds of ministerial level sport events and 23 kinds of Regions and State level sport events will be included in the National Sports Festival. 6678 Estimated participants including administrators, coaches and athletes will compete and 4 kinds of Para games will also be included.

The Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn discussed that coordination meetings were held with the relevant organizations to hold the opening and closing ceremonies successfully. Depending on the designated allocated amount of funds, the best preparations and implementations will be ensured for organizing the opening and closing ceremonies with teeming crowd.

Next, the responsible officials from the relevant subcommittees clarified regarding with the estimated expenditures as per the subcommittee, chairman of national sports festival organizing work Committee Union Minister U Min Thein Zan supplemented necessary matters and gave a speech of conclusion.
