







Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than visited No.7 Textile Factory in Myittha Township of Kyaukse District in Mandalay Region on July 27th to oversee the production process of marketable cotton threads.
In meeting with officials, the Union Minister called for development of production chain process from cotton to cloths, creating job opportunities for local people along with plans to boost production. They then proceeded to No.2 Textile Factory (Paleik) in Sintkai Township and observed the production process.
The Union Minister instructed to strive for boosting production to ensure local sufficiency through innovation for quality products.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with officials from Home Utilities Factory (Minsu) and Pharmaceutical Factory (Inyaung), and urged to make plans to produce marketable products for winning more market share. He also instructed for sustainability of the facilities through systematic management system.
On arrival at No.7 Sub Textile Mill in Wundwin, the Union Minister met with cotton and textile business owners and called for cooperation of the stakeholders in an efforts for sufficiency of cloth needs locally.
Attendees reported on the needs to produce c-grade cotton by the state owned factories, sales of various cotton threads for MSME businesses, timely provision of dyed chemicals and opening of textile manufacturing training school in Wundwin.
The Union Minister later oversaw the production processes at No.7 Sub Textile Mill (Wundwin), Leaders Textile Public Co,. Ltd, and Pho Pyone Cho Company.
