Agriculture and Livestock: Inspection at sunflower plantation and livestock farming

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation is providing technology and its needs to use high-quality sunflower varieties suitable for the region and to obtain better crop yields.

On July 28th, Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi inspected agricultural and livestock activities in Pobbathiri and Zeyathiri Townships in Nay Pyi Taw. Upon arrival at WaeGyi village in Pobbathiri Township, the Deputy Minister inspected the model monsoon sunflower plantations.

During the meeting with farmers, he gave instructions on improving market opportunities, reducing agricultural input costs, enhancing crop yield and quality and ensuring sustainable, environmentally friendly production and provided fertilizers.

The Deputy Minister later arrived at the fish hatchery camp of Zeyathiri Township to attend the opening ceremony of a training course on fish breeding by injection method. The course aims to boost the income of fish farming households, by conducting them practical and theoretical techniques for manageable-scale fish breeding.

Afterward, the Deputy Minister proceeded to TaukHtein village in Pobbathiri Township and inspected poultry farming and the egg sales process. He also instructed on environmental cleanliness, disease prevention in workplace and personal hygiene, providing business development suggestions.
