Renovation of Cultural Heritage: Leading Committee held meeting in Nay Pyi Taw

The Leading Committee on Renovation of Cultural Heritage in Bagan World Heritage Site held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

Chairman of the Leading Committee, member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defence Admiral Tin Aung San attended the meeting and made a speech. He emphasized the need to follow the suggestions of Heritage Impact Assessment in implementing the development works in the cultural heritage zones.

He stressed for the installation of CCTV in the heritage site to monitor for security measures in additional to the natural disaster. For the convenient renovation of the ancient buildings, he instructed officials to compile the records of each pagodas and temples. 

The Union Minister urged all to make collaboration for renovation process of Bagan ancient cultural site with systematic management. The meeting discussed the progress of renovation works for quake hit ancient pagodas, temples and religious edifices, re-digging of 91 ancient lakes, cooperation with local and international experts, and financial management.
