Coordination meeting: Meeting on rural road development held

The coordination meeting of the Department of Rural Road Development on the projects of rural roads and bridges was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development office No (16) in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 22nd July.

In his opening remark at the meeting, Union Minister U Hla Moe said that as the comprehensive development of the country and the poverty alleviation measures in the rural areas are based on the easy and smooth road transportation in the rural areas, better accessibilty of rural transportation plays the cruicial role.

The State is striving for the sector-wise comprehensive development inclusive of all people to achieve the national objective of the prosperity of the country and the food security focusing the national interest and the Department of Rural Road Development under the Ministry is implementing for the sustainable development of road network and the emergence of all season accessible roads in rural areas before 2030 and maintennance for the long term sustainability of rural roads and bridges.

Next, the Deputy Minister U Myint Soe discussed the integrated matters to be implemented for the rural development works and the sustainable development of vocational small and medium enterprises, matters on the code of conduct and rules and regularions of the civil service personnel and complying with the financial procedues.

Then, the Director General of the Department of Rural Roads Developmnet clarified the works implementd and plans to be carried out followed by the clarifications of the regions and states head officers of the Department of Rural Roads Development.

Next, the permanent secretary U Khant Zaw made a review on the clarifications and the Directors General of the relevant Departments discussed the status of collaboration and plans to be implemented.After that, Union Minister U Hla Moe and officials awarded the personnel who received the excellent performance awards and outstanding awards of the Department during 2023-2024 fiscal year, it’s learnt.
