Regional Development: Efforts for ensuring food sufficiency in PutaO

Kachin State Government is striving for ensuring food sufficiency in PutaO District, increasing assistance from the State Economic Development Fund for extended implementation for agricultue and livestock breeding tasks.

Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan conducted a field inspection to Putao Township starting July 19th. During their tour, veterinary medicines and nutrition supplement for livestock breeding farms were provided, along with the educative talks for systematic breeding tasks.

In meeting with farmers in Warsar Village, officials explained the systematic measures for land reclamation in PutaO District. From 2022-2023 fiscal year to 2023-2024 fiscal year, 375 acre farmlands have been reclaimed in the district, and reclamation of 100 acre farmland is underway in Warsar Village with completion of 50 acres. The Chief Minister also inspected the construction of PutaO-Mansay (PutaO Plain) Circular Road which could benefit over 11,000 people from 28 villages.
