Explosion in Lewe: Security forces thwart missile attack in Nay Pyi Taw

Acting on a tip-off from local residents about an explosion in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on July 16th, security forces conducted an operation and discovered the site where three short-range missiles had exploded near KyanKhin and KanTha villages.

No casualties or damages were reported.Further security operations revealed four additional locations where missiles had been launched. Another three missiles in a ready-to-launch position were systematically deactivated. The surrounding areas were secured and checked, leading to the initial arrest of two terrorists responsible for the missile attack.Subsequent interrogations resulted in the arrest of 15 more suspects. Proceedings are underway to take effective action in accordance with the law.
