Laos-China Counter-Crime Military Exercise

China and Laos launched a joint military drill on Thursday stimulating the fight against an armed criminal gang to test the troops’ comprehensive operational capabilities after days of training. This was the last part of the China-Laos Friendship Shield-2024 joint military exercise, which took place in Laos from July 5 to 18.

On the common border between the two countries, a stimulated transnational criminal organization had secretly assembled to carry out terrorist activities. The China-Laos joint task force was mobilized to complete defense deployment and crack down on the organized crime. At the closing ceremony of the Friendship Shield-2024 held later in the day, soldiers with outstanding performance were awarded honorary certificates and commemorative badges.
