





China’s self-developed 30,000-ton oil platform was installed in the Xijiang oil field on Wednesday in the South China Sea by the state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation to ensure stable oil production of the over 30-year-old oil field.
The Xijiang 30-2B platform is a stationary oil and gas drilling platform that combines drilling, production and living functions. The 198-meter-high, 30,000-ton platform stands on the seabed at a depth of 98 meters and consists of a deepwater jacket and upper buildings.
The Xijiang oil field is located in the waters of the Zhujiangkou Basin, southeast of Shenzhen city. It has produced a total of 100 million cubic meters of crude oil over the past three decades.
