Waso Robe offering ceremony: SAC Chairman and wife offered Waso Robe and offertories

The State Administration Council of Republic of the Union of Myanmar organized 2024 Waso robe offering ceremony at Sasana Maha Beikman in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday morning.

State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attended the ceremony and offered Waso Robe and offertories. First, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister paid homage to the Buddha image in Sasana Beikman building and offered meals in the emerald alms-bowl, fruits, flowers, water and lights.

The Senior General and wife and the congregation received Five Precepts from Chairman Sayadawgyi of the State SanghaMahaNayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka of MinkyaungPahtamaPyan Monastery in Thanlyin and listened to Metta Sutta recited by members of the Sangha.

The Senior General and wife then offered Waso robes and offertories to Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadawgyi. Later, Vice-Chairman of SAC Deputy Prime Minister offered Waso robes and offertories to the Secretary of State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee MaSoeYeinTaikthit Sayadawgyi.

After that, the SAC secretary, joint secretary, Council members and wives, Union level persons, offered Waso robes and offertories to the members of the Sangha. The congregation then listened to religious sermons delivered by the Secretary of State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee MaSoeYeinTaikthit Sayadawgyi and shared the merits gained. After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife together with the congregation offered day meals to members of the Sangha.
