Coordination meeting: Meeting on current diarrhea outbreak held

The coordination meeting on the disease control, prevention and treatment regarding the current diarrhea outbreak in Yangon Region was held at the Region Government office in the evening on 15th July.

First, the secretary of Region Government clarified the preventive measures carried out by groups in the relevant Townships, dissemination of awareness through the hand speaker and distribution of pamphlets at the places of crowd, sticking of vinyl stickers on YBS bus-lines and distribution of pamphlets to the passengers.

The plans to be coordinated by the Ministry on the ongoing tasks, the prioritized townships and plans under implementation and the requirement of monitoring the family members of the infected patient for being critical condition as those who are possible to infect and have not shown symptom were reported by Deputy Minister of Health Professor Dr. Aye Tun, inspection of water quality of the purified water plants and townships and the reports to close down the purified water plants which are in degradation by the Director General Dr. Myint Myint Than of the Public Health.

The region minister for development (Mayor) U Bo Htay, the Region Minister for Social Affairs U Htay Aung and the officials from the Department of Public Health.

After that, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein instructed to reports of requirements to be fulfilled in timely manner and gave other necessary instructions.
