Türkiye's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan announces the imminent end to his country's forces' operation against Kurdish PKK fighters in northern Iraq and Syria.

Erdogan said “The separatist organization is no longer able to carry out actions within our borders,” at young military academy graduates in Istanbul. “In Iraq and Syria, the organization is trapped in a corner.” Türkiye began its Operation Claw-Lock in April 2022, claiming it need to secure its border with northern Iraq, from where it accused Kurdish separatists of launching attacks on Turkish territory.
