Security Measures: Arms and ammunition seized in Namtsam Township

Acting on a tip-off, security forces conducted a search at Nar Yine Junction near Man Kyan Village in Namtsam Township, Shan State (South) on July 12th.

The operation resulted in the discovery of 15 various firearms, more than 43,000 rounds of ammunition, 450 pieces of 40 mm bombs, 15 magazines, and 15 shoulder straps. Five suspects from RCSS/SSA, including a platoon commander, were arrested.

Interrogation of the suspects revealed that the arms and ammunition had been received from PNLA earlier that morning. They will be transported to the KNPP and KNDF groups in Kayah State, as well as the KNLA operating along the border of Kayah and Kayin States.

It was disclosed that the seized arms and ammunition were manufactured by KIA and had been distributed to various groups, including the terrorist organization PDF, to support their activities aimed at disrupting the administrative machinery. Authorities have pledged to take effective legal action against the suspects.
