Coffee Cultivation: Efforts for boosting coffee production

Magway Region Government is striving to extend coffee plantation with boosting its yield.

On July 12th, coffee species and saplings were presented to the coffee farmers from Ngape, Setoattra and Mindon Townships at a ceremony, attended by Chief Minister U Tint Lwin. 300,000 acres of coffee plantation have been targeted across the country during five years period from 2023-24 to 2027-28.

Six coffee zones will be divided with four zones for 100,000 acres Robusta Coffee and 200,000 acres for Arabica Coffee. Magway Region covers zone (5), and plans have been made to grow 4,000 acres each year with the extention of 20,000 acres during five-year period.
