First visit by Indian PM in four decades to Austria

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Austria on a two-day visit, the first by an Indian prime minister in over four decades. He arrived in Vienna on Tuesday from Moscow. 

On his arrival in Vienna, he was welcomed by Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer. Modi’s visit also comes in the backdrop of New Delhi and Vienna celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations.

The leaders also held delegation level talks at the Federal Chancellery in Vienna. Several regional issues and political and economic discussions were held between the leaders.
