Environmental Conservation: Releasing fingerlings and tree planting ceremony

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs organized a ceremony to plant fingerlings and monsoon trees in the compound of Wunna Theikdhi Sports Complex in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Led by Union Minister U Min Thein Zan, some 15,000 fingerlings were planted into the Lake No.1 in the stadium compound. They then planted a total of 1,000 saplings of teak and hardwood in front of the Stadium A, B and C.

Aiming to achieve sustainability of forest resources, to prevent forest degradation and to ensure balanced climatic condition, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs has been conducting tree planting events since 2021, and a total of 3,400 saplings were planted as of this year.
