
Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko and Defense Minister Kihara Minoru held a meeting with the Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo and Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro on a high-level visit to Manila to discuss defence and security issues on Monday.
It will be the first so-called "two-plus-two" talks between the two countries in two years.Manila installed a Japanese-made air-surveillance radar system at a Philippine Air Force base on the island of Luzon last year. Japan is a key supplier of security equipment and technology to the Philippines, including patrol vessels and surveillance systems.
