Coordination Meeting: Meeting on outbreak of cholera in Yangon held

A coordination meeting on the outbreak of cholera recently occured in Yangon Region regarding with prevention and containing and providing healthcare for the public was held at the Region Government office in the morning on Sunday.

The Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein gave an opening remark. Next, the Director General Dr. Myint Myint Than of the Department of Public Health clarified the providing healthcare for the public in Yangon Region. Consequently, medical superintendent of Yangon People’s Hospital Dr. Thida Hla on the status of giving treatment in the hospital, status of recovery and Yangon Region government Minister for development (Mayor) U Bo Htay on the construction of flied-proofed latrines, supplying water with water boxer trucks, Minister for Social Affairs on the status of findings from the ground inspection, carrying out raising public awareness to reach basic level and the Yangon General Hospital’s medical superintendent and the attendees on the various measures to contain the outbreak recently occurred in the Region, clarified. Then, the Region Chief minister gave necessary instruction and suggestions.
