Arrived Back from China: Delegation attended 4th China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi attended the 4th China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation held in Nyingchi City of Xizang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China arrived back at Yangon in the afternoon on July 6 and they were welcomed by the officials from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry at Yangon International Airport.

The delegation led by the Union Minister arrived at Kunming City in the evening on 5th July and was welcomed by the Director General Prof. Dr. Yang Yongping of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden-XTBG and Prof. Dr. Yang Xuefei of Kunming Institute of Botany-KIB and Myanmar students and they discussed the conservation of Bio Diversity, acceleration of research works and granting further scholarships for the human resource development.

In the morning on 6th July, the Union Minister visited Kunming Institute of Botany -KIB and the Deputy Director Dr. Wu Jianqiang and Prof. Dr. Yang Xuefei took him round the institute.

The Forest Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and Kunming Institute of Botany, Kunming Institute of Zoology and Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden which are the Research and Development Divisions of Chinese Academy of Sciences-CAS have been collaborating in the conservation of Bio Diversity, cooperation in the research and the human resource development works since 2016 and the further five-year MoU was signed in April, 2024 and the cooperation is being accelerated, it’s learnt.
