






With the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better Future for All”, 102nd celebration of International Day of Cooperatives was observed in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.
Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe attended the ceremony, and made a speech, highlighting the benefits of cooperative associations in economic progress, conservation of natural environment and climate change, creating employment opportunities, food safety and food security.
In Myanmar, over 38,000 cooperative associations have been formed so far, implementing for socio-economic development of local populace by laying down 9-Action Plan. The Union Minister urged all concerned personnel to make collaboration and cooperation in implementing the tasks for long term sustainability.
The ceremony also celebrates the achievements of Cooperative Association by presenting 27 awards. Commemorative booths were also displayed, exhibiting the local products of respective regions and states.
