



The highway passenger buses headed to Monywa Township of Sagaing Region from Yangon were attacked by the terrorists so-called PDF with improvised mines and small weapons near Nga-Shan Village of Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region in the morning on 1st July, 2024. The attack of terrorists left some passengers dead and several injured.
A total of 8 highway passenger buses including Shwe-Sin-Sakkyar, Sein-Htay-Hlaing, New Swan, three buses of FAMOUS bus line, Shwe-Mandalar and Shwe-Thallar departed from Yangon, while those were passing Nga-Shan Village of Chaung-U Township, at the top of the Village to the ease, those were attacked by the terrorists so-called PDF with improvised mines and small weapons.
Due to the attack of terrorists so-called PDF, one passenger women died in the incidence and a Buddhist monk, 13 men and 10 women sustained injuries.
The security forces from Monywa and Chaung-U Townships who went to the scene as quickly as possible to provided necessary security measures and rescue works broke out armed engagement with the terrorists so-called PDF who were readily waiting for by taking position on Mandalay-Monywa Road at 2,000 meters apart from (ငါးယှန်) Village and the terrorists retreated to the north direction.
The security forces carried out security measures around the place of incident, they detected and seized 30 various types of improvised mines and the passengers who sustained injuries were conveyed to the Monywa People’s hospital to receive medical treatment.
The Sagaing Region chief Minister U Myat Kyaw and the officials concerned from the North-West Command asked about the health condition of the passengers and gave words of comfort to them at the hospital, arranged for the necessary medical treatment and provided cash assistance.
The security forces are carrying out blockage, searching, investigation and chasing after the terrorists to crack down the CRPH-NUG affiliated terrorists who launched attack targeting the non-military target of peaceful travelers and the cooperation with the people have sense of obligation for the safe trip of the people, is being accelerated, it’s reported.
