Flood in Myitkyina: Locals evacuated due to inundation

About 380 people were evacuated in Yekyi Village of Pammati Ward in Myitkyina on Sunday morning, as the water level of Ayeyawady River has surged about 6 ft due to heavy rain. 

Local authorities rushed to the flooded areas and assisted the evacuation of the affected victims from some 150 households. They have been temporarily accommodated at No. (4) Basic Education High School.

Likewise, About 107 affected victims have been evacuated in Myothit Ward, and over 200 affected victims in Kyet Paung Chan Ward. Nine temporary Relief Camps have been opened at present, providing necessary help and rescue operations.
