China Trip: 70th Anniversary of Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence

In the morning of 29 June, Former President U Thein Sein who was temporary stay in China visited the Ling Guang Temple in Beijing to pay homage to the Lord Buddha’s tooth relic and met with Venerable Chang Zang , Chief Monk of Ling Guang Temple to pay his respects.

There, the Former President donated a replica of Maravijaya Buddha Image. On the same day, the Former President held talks with Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at the Diao Yutai State Guest House in Beijing.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on the existing friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and China, and recent development of Myanmar. The Myanmar delegation led by the Former President arrived back in Nay Pyi Taw from Beijing on Sunday after attending the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence held in the People’s Republic of China.

The Myanmar delegation was welcomed at the Nay Pyi Taw Airport by Admiral Tin Aung San, member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minster and Union Minister for Defence, U Wunna Maung Lwin, Member of the State Administration Council, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister of the Ministry 2 at Office of Chairman of the State Administration Council, U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Cao Jing , Deputy Head of Mission (Minister Counsellor) of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Myanmar and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
