Precautionary Measures Advised: Ayeyawady River water levels rising

According to the Meteorology and Hydrology Department's observation at 10:30 am on Sunday, the water level of the Ayeyarwady River in various townships is showing a concerning trend.

Currently, the water levels in Myitkyina is more than 3½ feet below its danger level. It is expected to reach the danger level within the next 2 days.

Likewise, the water level in Bhamo is about 9 feet below its danger level, and it may reach the danger level within the next 3 days.

In Shwegu, the water level is more than 6½ feet below its danger level, and it is anticipated to reach the danger level within the next 2 days. In Katha, the water level is more than 7½ feet below its danger level, and it is likely to reach the danger level within the next 3 days.

Residents living near the riverbanks and in low-lying areas in Myitkyina, Bhamo, Shwegu, and Katha Townships are advised to take precautionary measures to ensure their safety.
