Energy Sector: Plans underway to open Energy Skills Training School

Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin on Saturday inspected the Guesthouse of the Oil Products Supervision and Inspection Department in Pyin Oo Lwin Township of Mandalay Region to turn it into a Training School. There, the Union Minister heard report on construction of the Guesthouse, maintenance and conditions for the opening of the Energy Skills Training School.

In his response, the Union Minister said the energy sector is important for national development. For the development of the energy sector, the development of human resources and the implementation of research and development activities are important sectors.

Although the country has been working on oil exploration since 1886, the pace of development is much slower if compared to other countries. He also stressed the importance of technology and research, the Union Minister added.

It’s reported that efforts are being made to open the Energy Skills Training School at the Oil Products Supervision and Inspection Department in Pyin Oo Lwin Township in accordance with the standards of international energy training schools.
