Library & Reading: Development and Promotion activity in Yangon

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein on Friday attended a ceremony for school library development and reading habit promotion activity at the No. 2 Basic Education High School in Bahan Township.

This activity was jointly carried out by the Information and Public Relation Department and the Department of Basic Education. After the opening ceremony, students presented stage performances.

And, the Chief Minister gave a speech and accepted cash and books donation from well-wishers for libraries development. Then, an author made remarks regarding the benefits and reading. And, the Chief Minister presented an honourable gift to the author. There, the Chief Minister and officials viewed competitions including colouring contest and poem recitation as well as books on display.
