Coordination Meeting: Discussion on Ground Census Enumeration Tasks

On Friday, the Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration held a work coordination meeting at the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw.

Central Committee Chairman and Union Minister U Myint Kyaing delivered a speech, highlighting the progress and future plans for census activities.The nationwide ground census enumeration was conducted for 20 days from January 1st to 31st, 2024.

The task achieved 100 percent completion in nine regions and states, while some townships in six other regions and states were pending due to security measures. He emphasized the need to continue census enumeration efforts to cover these areas as much as possible.

The Union Minister also underscored the importance of making constant adjustments to account for new births, mortality rates, migration, and the population reaching the age of 18.

He added that the Nationwide Population and Housing Census is scheduled to be conducted from October 1st to 15th, 2024, and stressed the necessity of thorough preparation for this event.He called for the cooperation of all concerned parties to compile approved population statistics accurately, which is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of voter lists.

The meeting included discussions on the progress of compiling the approved population list and coordination plans among various departments to ensure the timely completion of these tasks.
