Inspection Tour in Mandalay: MCRD Union Minister inspects dairy sector

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe on Thursday inspected dairy sector in Mandalay Region.

First, in Kyaukse Township, the Union Minister inspected a dairy products manufacturing industry, heard report and stressed that the government is working to reduce the import of dairy products from abroad and it is necessary to systematically expand dairy cattle breeding activities in order to obtain sufficient raw materials.

The Union Minister also highlighted the Ministry’s efforts for dairy sector development. He also urged the industry officials to produce dairy products that are healthy and affordable, and made an inspection of the industry. The Union Minister continued his inspection tour to another dairy products manufacturing industry and said that Meikhtila area is a suitable place for raising dairy cattle and producing dairy products and also a central area for trade.

Necessary Feasibility Survey will be made for dairy cattle breeding and dairy products manufacturing through a cooperative system. There, he also fulfilled the requirements. Also, the Union Minister inspected a condensed milk manufacturing industry and pledged to cooperate with relevant ministries in order to further improve the production activities of the livestock sector in the area. He also inspected dairy cattle farm at the Cooperative Enterprise in SetPitTaung Village.

There, he urged concerned officials to carry out the production dairy products as value-added food products manufacturing, to provide assistance for agriculture and livestock sector development and fulfilled the requirements.
