Giant Gundam robot to go on show at 2025 Osaka world expo

A replica of a giant robot from the popular Japanese anime series Mobile Suit Gundam will be on display at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, starting next April. Bandai Namco Holdings unveiled the image of the life-size 16-meter-tall Gundam on Wednesday.

The company said it will place the statue next to its expo pavilion, where the robot will point into space to symbolize reaching out to the future. The new statue will be made from materials used in another life-size Gundam robot that was on display in Yokohama, near Tokyo, until March.
