The surge of fires before the peak of the dry season has raised alarm for the Pantanal, which extends into Bolivia and Paraguay and is home to a rich array of wildlife, including the world's highest density of jaguars.

Local farmer said sometimes fire catches the fence, which is expensive to build. The cattle are also afraid of the fire. So, the cattle were brought closer to the headquarters to get them away from the fire and try to minimize the destruction as much as possible.
