The opening ceremony of “MFF Max Energy Futsal Amateur Cup 2024” organized by Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) and Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee, sponsored by Max Energy was held at MFF FUTSAL STADIUM in Thuwunna of Thingangyun Township in the morning on 23rd June.
The ceremony was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and Region Government Ministers, Senior Vice President of Asia Football Federation (AFF), President of MFF U Zaw Zaw, President of Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee U Win Thaw and officials.
First, the Chief Minister and party greeted and gave words of encouragement to the athletes from the contestant teams and provided Futsal footballs and cash assistance for the 50 contestant teams. The athletes accepted the assistance and the football players presented a football jersey signed by all players on it to the Chief Minister.
Next, the Chief Minister and party watched the opening match between the team COMBINE and team BUSHIDO and the team COMBINE beat with 7-3 goals.
The teams reached to the Quarter Final State at Max Energy Futsal Amateur Cup 2024 will qualify to compete in MFF Futsal Championship 2024 and the two finalist teams will have an opportunity to compete in MFF Futsal League II 2024.
The group stage events of Max Energy Futsal Amateur Cup 2024 will be held from 22nd June to 8th July, the knock-out stage events will take place from 10th to 14th July. The Semi-Final events on 16th July, the third-place play-off and final match on 18th July will be held. A total of 800 players from 50 contestant teams will participate in the Max Energy Futsal Amateur Cup 2024, it’s reported.
