Waso Chinlone Festival: MDY CM opened the festival

The opening ceremony of 96th edition of Waso Chinlone playing Festival of Mahamuni Buddha Image was held at Chinlone sport stadium in 45-Tar ground to the west of the Buddha Image and attended by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Region Government Ministers and officials, persons of expertise in Chinlone, athletes from the armature Chinlone paying teams.

First, Chief Minister and officials opened the 96th edition of Waso Chinlone playing Festival by cutting the ceremonial ribbon, watched the aesthetic depiction of Chinlone playing by the veteran Chinlone enthusiasts and presented cash of honor.

Mandalay City Waso Chinlone playing Festival of Mahamuni Buddha Image has been organizing as a gesture of preserving Myanmar traditional cultural heritage and it’s been 96th time. At the festival of offering Waso Robe, flower and oil lamp to the Mahamuni Buddha Image, the Chinlone playing festival will be organized for 30 days from 1st Waning of Nayon to the 1st waning of Waso and 600 armature Chinlone playing teams will participate. On 20th July, 34th edition of paying obeisance to the elder veteran Chinlone players will also be held, it’s learnt.
