Japan is set to introduce new measures in a bid to tackle overtourism on Mount Fuji from July 1st, with an online booking system to cap daily entries to 4,000 people, a $13 fee and a checkpoint gate to ease congestion on the most popular Yoshida Trail among hikers. Japan's highest mountain has become increasingly crowded during the summer hiking season, raising concerns over safety and environmental damage.
