Ethnic language text books: Shan State CM provided ethnic language text books

The ceremony of providing Ethnic Language Text Books published with the Shan State Government Fund was held at the Shan State Director ’s Office of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs in Taunggyi Township at 10:30 AM on 17th June. At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung gave an opening remark saying that Myanmar is a home of 135 ethnic people and 33 ethnic groups are living in Shan State which is multi ethnic State.

As it’s found out that some ethnic groups have formed and registered the Ethnic Literature and Cultural Association officially and activities have been carrying out, Shan State Government has provided over 270 million Kyats in 2022-2023. During this ceremony, the Ethnic language text books in Shan, Pa-O, Lisu, Kachin, Taung Yoe, Akha, Wa and Lahu languages published with the Shan State Government Fund for 2023-2024 fiscal year will be provided.

After clarification made by the Shan State Minister for Ethnic Affairs regarding with the matters on the ethnic affairs, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and State Ministers presented ethnic language text books to the relevant ethnic literature and cultural associations.

A responsible person from Shan State literature and cultural association expressed words of thanks on behalf of the ethnic literature and cultural associations and posed for the documentary group photo.After that, the Chief Minister viewed the text books of Shan, Pa-O, Lisu, Kachin, Taung Yoe, Akha, Wa and Lahu languages, it’s reported.
