Healthcare Facility: New vaccine cold storage facility and building opening

Ministry of Health has been making efforts for the public healthcare across the country. In Yangon, the new vaccine cold storage facility has been commissioned into service on Saturday afternoon.

Union Minister for Health Dr. ThetKhaing Win, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and many other officials attended this new vaccine cold storage facility opening ceremony. And, the Union Minister inspected vaccine storage on the ground floor of the 3-storey facility and gave necessary instructions.

In his speech, the Union Minister said the estimated cost for the facility is more than 700 million Kyats, and it was built with the support of GAVI. It can store vaccines needed for Yangon Region for 2 months.

This new 3-storey vaccine cold storage facility is 60 feet long, 48 feet wide and 39 feet High. On Sunday, the Union Minister attended the new 2-storey building opening at the Hmawbi Township People’s Hospital.

There, the Union Minister said that with this new building, capacity of the Hmawbi Township People’s Hospital to receive and treat patients will increase. With the State Budget, the Minsitry of Health has been upgrading hospitals and supplying more medicines and medical equipment to the hospitals.

Also, Yangon Region Chief Minster donated 20 air conditioners for the new building. And, the Union Minister and Chief Minister made inspection of the new building. At the hospital, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister and officials provided cash assitance to patients.
