Livestock & Regional Products: SG visits breeding farms and manufacturing enterprises

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited livestock farms and regional products manufacturing enterprises in Meikhtila and Wundwin townships on Saturday afternoon.

First, on the Meikhtila-Tharzi Road, the Senior General visited a goat and sheep livestock farming and heard reports on farming process, feeding and sale. In his report, the Senior General called for efforts for systematic livestock farming, direct system between breeders and consumers for price reduction and meat production plant construction and fulfilled the requirements.

At a goat livestock farm in SuuPhyuKhet Village, the Senior General heard report on the farm condition, stressed the importance of research and held talks with officials from the farm. In Tawma Village, the Senior General visited a dairy farm, heard report on dairy products manufacturing and stressed that dairy products imported from foreign countries need to be replaced by domestically produced dairy products.

In Wundwin Township, the Senior General met with weaving entrepreneurs, heard report on weaving enterprises condition and difficulties and coordinated with concerned officials to tackle the difficulties. On the same day, the Senior General heard report on spinning operation, weaving, jobs creation, quality control and stressed that some of the cotton in the domestic textile industry is imported from abroad.

If the local cotton meets the standard, production costs will decrease. It’s necessary to carry out research on the production of fabrics with locally produced cotton, the Senior General added.
