29th Anniversary: MOIP holds ceremony on June 15

Ministry of Immigration and Population on Saturday held its 29th Anniversary Ceremony at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Ceremony attended by Union Minister U Myint Kyaing and many other officials and staff began with taking five precepts from members of the Sangha, listened to sermons, offered offertories to the members of the Sangha, shared the merits gained and offered alms food to the members of the Sangha.

In the 2nd part of the Ceremony, the Union Minister highlighted the establishment of the Ministry on the 15th of June in 1995. Currently, four major tasks are being implemented under the guidance of the government.

The Ministry has been participating in the supervision committee of the field census collection for the accuracy of the voter list. The 2024 Population and Household Census is to confirm and publish the nation’s population statistics and to forecast future population and socio-economic data more accurately, the Union Minister added.

And, awards were presented to the outstanding officials and staff under the Ministry and the outstanding students who passed the 2023-2024 matriculation exam with distinctions.  Also, stipend was provided to students who are offspring of the officials and staff under the Ministry. This Ceremony also included a lucky draw program, entertainment program and lunch serving.
