Honduran Authorities incinerate 5.6 tons of Seized Cocaine

Authorities in Honduras on Thursday incinerated more than 5.6 tons of cocaine seized in three anti-drug operations between February and May 2024, mostly in the waters of the Caribbean Sea, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The 5,631 kilos of cocaine are incinerated in a field of the Military Police of Public Order, in the southern outskirts of the capital Tegucigalpa. Honduras and the other Central American countries are regarded as transit points for cocaine from South American producer countries to the US market.
