China's renewable energy consumption

Total trading volume of green electricity in China reached 187.1 billion kWh from January to May this year, more than tripling the figure of the same period last year, the China Electricity Council said on Wednesday. Green electricity mainly refers to power generated by wind and solar energy.

The council’s executive vice president said the energy, telecommunications, petrochemical, steel and internet technology industries accounted for the majority of green electricity consumption, with the energy, steel and internet infrastructure sectors ranking as the biggest green power consumers.
