Agriculture & Livestock Sector: Deputy Minister makes inspections in Myeik

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi held a meeting with company officials working in shrimp farming in Kyunsu Township of Tanintharyi Region.

This meeting focused on modern saltwater shrimp farming, issues related to the scarcity of aquatic animals, prevention of extinction, conservation of habitats of fish resources and expansion of fish breeding activities to provide more employment opportunities for local people.

Also, the Deputy Minister inspected the Myeik District Settlement and Land Records Department and gave instructions to develop a farming system that is compatible with the environment, to develop agro-based businesses that incorporate the unique characteristics of the Region, to provide comprehensive support in terms of seeds, land, water, and techniques to improve the agriculture sector. Also, the Deputy Minister inspected the Department of Fisheries, heard reports and gave necessary instructions.
