Myanmar / Sri Lanka: Deputy Prime Minister receives Ambassador

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Mrs. Ponnamperuma Arachchige PrabashiniPonnamperuma, Ambassador-designate of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lankato the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on Monday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the call, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs extended congratulations to the Ambassador for the latter’s appointment as Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar.

And, they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further advancement of the existing friendly bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and continued cooperation in rendering consular assistance for Sri Lankan nationals in Myanmar.
