Work Undertakings: Monsoon tree planting and inspection in Nay Pyi Taw

Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony was held at field No.(60) of Taung Nyo Forest Reserve in Uttara Thiri  township of Nay Pyi Taw council area.

Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw council U Than Tun Oo said that efforts are being make to emerge Nay Pyi Taw as Clean city, Green city, Smart City, while striving for greening and beautifying of all urban and rural areas. He called for collaboration of all concerned persons for increase coverage of forests, favourable climatic condition and preventing the natural disasters as a national responsibility.

A total of 1,350 saplings were planted during the ceremony. Next, the Council Chairman and officials visited Shar Say Pho Village in Thit Thet village-tract of Zeyathiri Township to oversee the providing medical treatment to local residents by the field medical team from Nay Pyi Taw Traditional Medicine Hospital under the Department of Traditional Medicine.

They then visited 50-bed People’s Hospital in Pobbathiri Township and observed the health care services and medicine storage room. The Chairman gave necessary instructions for greening and cleanliness in the hospital compound and preventing the breed of mosquitoes and flies and dengue awareness activities.

The Chairman and party later visied  Mhan Kaung Tike monastery in Kyaungtaungkan (2) ward in Pobbatthiri Township. They viewed the youths enjoying reading at the Lawka Kyaymon Library and donated cash, books and periodicals for library development.

They then met with local farmers in Tha Pyay Tan village–tract and gave instructions to achieve targeted yields, to use correct agriculture method and to plant more oil crops. The fertilizers were also provided to the farmers for monsoon paddy cultivation.

The Chairman and party then inspected summer sesame crops, green grams and sunflower plantations at the village model farm. At a coordination meeting held at the office of Nay Pyi Taw Council, the Chairman discussed for fully cultivation of monsoon paddy in Nay Pyi Taw union territory. The attendees also discussed the plans to cultivate monsoon crops and work undertakings.
